What is MusiCure?

Description, purpose and background for the specially composed music

MusiCure is specially composed original music, created with special purpose to reduce stress, be soothing and inspiring. More than 20 years of development and the study of results from many research projects, in several countries, form the foundation for the creation of MusiCure, and music is used today in many different types of treatment and research projects.
MusiCure is created by musician and composer Niels Eje, and producer Inge Mulvad Eje, and a precise characterization of the music is: A special kind of  'universal' and 'genre-less' soundscapes that appeal to everyone regardless of music taste, listening habits and preferences in music in general. The purpose is to convey a positive stress-free, inspiring and motivating atmosphere, which is relaxing and life-affirming, through high quality original music.
The compositions consist of instrumental soundscapes, performed on acoustic instruments by highly trained classical soloists, as well as unique recordings of nature sounds, which are carefully selected and discreetly integrated into the music.

The scientific documentation and the studies with hospital patients, on which the MusiCure music is based, began more than 20 years ago, in 1998 at Rigshospitalet (Copenhagen University Hospital). The international published articles describing the effect of MusiCure have been written by independent researchers from several countries, and it is the researchers themselves who took the initiative to these studies. Today, more than 20 scientific articles have been published in international medical journals, which are listed under RESEARCH here on the site.

Composer Niels Eje and producer Inge Mulvad Eje, who created MusiCure, had no influence on how the studies is performed, but merely provided the specially composed content in the programs used for the patients. The MusiCure repertoire also contains specially produced films with nature, which has been carefully edited for the music, and the MusiCure Pillow with built-in sound in high quality.
